About Ellen Brook
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Ellen Brook is an artist and designer of abstract artwork and women's one-of-a-kind clothing and accessories. Ellen Brook is an abstract painter who seeks to create vibrant, expressive and emotionally evocative paintings. Ellen paints acrylics on canvas, mixed media and dye on silk paintings. Her dye on silk paintings are like 'watercolor on silk'. They are lightweight, stretched over a frame of wooden stretcher bars (like canvas) and wall mountable. Ellen also creates hanging silk panels for use as space dividers, panels suspended from ceilings, canopies and wall hangings. She also creates original one of a kind artisanal clothing, which has been featured at San Francisco's de Young Museum. Ellen's artwork and clothing were on display at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History's Show entitled "Handmade".
