About Janet Bludau
Janet Bludau describes her work as Abstracted Realism. She does not try to capture what the eye actually sees in nature as with a photograph. She intuitively applies color, inserts shapes and graphic line until they are pleasing to her eye. This is combined with the interplay of textures to articulate the mood she is wanting to convey. With her background in design, and her favorite class being Color Theory, color and the juxtaposition of it, is of utmost importance. Color is layered for texture but also to show the journey after the painting's final edit.
