About

This piece is an oil painting based on the scenery of the North Coast of California. The title has to do with a theme I've observed in nature, time and time again: the world is as beautiful as it is tragic. This seems, to me, to be the yin and yang of our reality. When we look at an ocean we might enjoy it's beauty, but the ocean is also dangerous with a million trials of life happening just below the surface.
