About

"I Paint what I can't see. I paint what I feel. Painting is a delightful devotion, a mirror of truth;
it's an invention of anything you want.

It's a deed of light against darkness, a poem, a love letter to someone.

The testimony to the true happiness of daily life, moment by moment, day by day, the joy of discovery, the pleasure of the unexpected."
- Gustavo Ramos Rivera

Description: Gustavo Ramos Rivera is an abstract painter whose work is recognized for its emotional and visual intensity and its highly individualized iconography. Using brilliant color and a highly personal symbology, the artist has created a unique language that is written throughout his paintings.

Technique: The artists work is composed over areas of compartmentalized color fields, with spontaneous brushwork and palette knife application that relies heavily on under-paint seeping through the top-coat of paint. It is coupled with a wandering line of paint as if the artist is drawing with it, rendered straight out of the tube or with the pointed back end of a brush.
