Silvia Poloto This body of work is an examination of letting go – of attitudes, old beliefs, dreams and emotions. A clearing of all things unnecessary in order to strip bare to the essential. Within this context, the emptiness is full, and holds potential for all unfolding moments. This work began when I was building my home. The relationship between me and the structure of my home was felt. Was lived. As if I was inside one of my paintings. From the outside, from the inside out, me and the empty space, me and the objects, how the objects were placed, the relationship among each other and the negative space around it, and me standing around each one. I became an active part of the space as much as a passive one. I saw myself having total control over it and not having any control at all, as if experiencing all potentiality. The result was a breathing space for the eye and mind, surrounded by the sea and the sky. What I sought with my living space, and continues with my artwork, is a kind of -

Silvia Poloto "This work began while I was designing my home. The relationship between me and the structure of my home was felt. Was lived. As if I were inside one of my paintings. From the outside, from the inside out, me and the empty space, me and the objects, how the objects were placed and in return placed me, the relationship among each other and the negative space around it. I became an active part of the space as much as a passive one, as I experienced myself having total control over it while having no control at all, as if experiencing all as potentiality. The result was a breathing space for the eye and mind, surrounded by the sea and the sky, with inner and outer vistas merging and emerging. Being became becoming, in lived experience and in open space. What I sought with my living space, and continues with my artwork, is a kind of essential refined simplicity reduced to the extreme, understated and unassuming yet with active presence, dynamic possibility and quiet authority. -

Silvia Poloto To enter the studio of Silvia Poloto is a little bit like stepping into a maelstrom. Not that her living/work space appears tornado-hit, far from it. Silvia’s living space is an exhibition showcase, elegant and orderly, and her adjoining work studio is what you would expect from such a prolific artist (a visitor hardly knows which way to turn as there are so many works in progress competing for his or her attention). Mediterranean Heaven
Laura Henwick A remarkably glamorous and welcoming space to come home to. The light plaster walls and dark wood ceilings of the home were the perfect backdrop for us to achieve the task of designing around the client's collection of exquisite Persian rugs. Rich color and textured furnishings were added that really highlighted the beauty in each unique rug. Rich color and textured furnishings were added that really highlighted the beauty in each unique rug. Sidnea D'Amico Sidnea D’Amico’s work imbues movement, line, and color. Inspired by both the energy of a bustling city environment and the more quiet moments of domesticity. In her Still Life Series, you can see these reflected in the suggestion of cityscapes and household objects. D’Amico plays and manipulates these shapes by layering them within layers of paint. She is often scratching and using transparency on the surface to quietly reveal their existence or simply to give them a recognizable presence. -
