About
Ann Holsberry works primarily with cyanotype, an experimental photographic process that exposes images using outdoor sunlight and other natural elements. In collaboration with natural phenomena, she creates a record of the passage of time and the fragility and beauty of the environments where she works. By engaging with materials that are responsive to the elements, Holsberry feels a deep connection to place on both a microscopic and a macroscopic level, and seeks to represent the vast and the infinitesimal as a unified whole in her work. Holsberry also enjoys a sense of play in experimenting with materials and surrendering control in working with unpredictable elements.
