As with many of my Formations series, this piece started with pure abstraction. Using powdered graphite mixed with liquid, I allowed gravity to start my process by moving the panel around and letting accidents happen. It took months of looking before I would decide what direction this work would go. Eventually, I found what I needed to start my investigation of form and turning this piece into a Formation.
